Ignite, the principal non-profit supported by Voices United, has just won a $4 million grant from Equality Can't Wait, a foundation started by Melinda Gates to help women achieve parity in pay, jobs and power in society.
Ignite plans a September press conference to announce details of its plan for the grant, which involves spreading Ignite chapters across the US.
This comes just before our annual Ignite auction and raffle to support the group that helps young women in Texas and elsewhere in the US get involved in politics and government. This means that the money we raise at our event will become a part of this big national plan.
